MEDICAL HELP AROUND YOUR FLIGHT
Travellers usually search for an “airport doctor” when they become ill shortly before departure, feel unwell after landing or have been asked for medical information by an airline.
Dalaman Airport has its own First Aid Center inside the terminal. Our independent private service is separate and is designed for appropriate assessments near the airport or at accessible accommodation.
The correct next step depends on the symptoms, current location, time remaining before departure and any airline requirement. Contacting the team early allows these factors to be reviewed before a private visit is considered.

Symptoms noticed during the flight or immediately after arrival at DLM
Questions after treatment, hospital care, surgery, a fall, fracture or ongoing infection
Clarification of an airline request for a doctor’s note, MEDIF form or medical clearance
For illness or injury inside the terminal, alert airport or airline staff and ask for the airport’s First Aid Center. It has continuously staffed medical support and an ambulance available for transfers when required.
If you are still at a hotel, villa or holiday home, send your location and scheduled airport transfer time. Vomiting, diarrhoea, fever, dehydration, respiratory symptoms, ear pain and injuries may affect both comfort and the practicality of flying. An assessment should not be delayed until the final minutes before check-in.
Some travellers notice dizziness, headache, nausea, ear pain, breathing symptoms or worsening illness during a flight. Serious or rapidly worsening symptoms inside the terminal should be reported to airport staff. For a stable concern after leaving the terminal, contact the team with your onward hotel or villa location.
Airlines may have different requirements following recent illness, hospitalisation, surgery, injury or an unstable medical condition. Some request their own medical information form, often called a MEDIF, rather than a general letter.
Before requesting an assessment, contact the airline and ask what document it requires, who may complete it, the accepted language and how recently it must be issued. A doctor can only document findings supported by an individual assessment; no certificate or airline acceptance can be guaranteed.
Medical information may help an airline assess the situation, but the airline or aircraft commander decides whether a passenger can be accepted for travel. A private doctor’s opinion does not override airline safety procedures.
Severe breathing difficulty, collapse, loss of consciousness, severe chest pain, heavy bleeding, seizure, a sudden extremely painful headache, new weakness or speech difficulty, or a rapidly worsening condition require immediate medical attention. If you are at the terminal, notify airport staff immediately.
Keep essential medicines in their original packaging where possible and carry a list of allergies, diagnoses and regular medicines. Bring recent discharge paperwork or test results if the concern follows hospital care, surgery or an injury.

No. Dalaman Airport has its own First Aid Center for passengers inside the terminal. This page describes an independent private medical service for travellers near the airport or at their hotel, villa or other accessible location.
Tell airport or airline staff immediately and ask for the terminal First Aid Center. Do not leave the secure area or delay urgent assistance while trying to arrange a routine private visit.
Contact the team as early as possible with your symptoms, current location, departure time and airline. The team will explain whether an assessment at your hotel or another accessible location may be arranged without putting your flight at risk.
If your condition is not an immediate airport medical matter, send your arrival time, symptoms and onward destination. Depending on availability and access, assessment may be discussed near the airport or at your accommodation.
No. A medical assessment does not guarantee that a document will be clinically appropriate or accepted. Ask your airline exactly what wording, form, language and issue date it requires. The airline or aircraft commander makes the final decision about travel.
Send the patient’s age, symptoms, when they began, current location, flight number, departure or arrival time, airline requirements and any recent illness, injury, surgery or hospital treatment.
